Arching Interiors in Wisconsin

Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Johnson Wax Headquarters in 1939, and was inspired by dendrite – tree like – forms to create the structure of the building. Over 200 different shaped bricks were made to build the curvilinear ceilings, and Wright even pioneered tapered columns – that initially weren't up to code – which proved to be both stable as well as providing the lilypad-like structure.
