Enjoying the closing spectacle at the Russian Winter Olympics

The 1980 Moscow Olympics was surrounded by controversy when America boycotted.
The opening ceremony, however, was one to remember, with a parade of Greek chariots in the grand arena of the Central Lenin Stadium, a procession of fluttering red flags, and a dance suite featuring the traditional dances of the 15 Soviet republics.  However, the closing ceremony of the Russian Winter Olympics in 2014 was no less a spectacle, with impressive towering human sculptures and synchronised performances that wowed the crowd…
