On Monday 21 August, 2017, all of North America witnessed an eclipse of the sun for the first time in 99 years.⠀
The Moon and the Earth became perfectly aligned in a once-in-a-lifetime celestial spectacle seen from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. Other parts of the world, including the UK will saw partial eclipse, experiencing a slight darkening of the sky.
Head of Research Liv Taylor was in Cape Breton, Canada and captured the event through a fellow walker's binocular contraption.
